Your Booking

How do I know if my booking is confirmed?

One your booking has been submitted for submission; our approval team will simply approve your booking or call you if there are any issues. You will receive an instant email to confirm your booking. You can also check your customer account and see “Approved Bookings” or check if it’s pending.

How can I edit my booking?

Editing a booking is simple and easy. You have two options, you can either call us direct on 0161 707 4020, or log onto your user account, click the booking tab and then edit booking.

Do I have to sign anything?

Yes, you will have to sign a Waste Transfer Note. WTNs ensure that there is a clear audit trail from when the waste is produced until it is disposed of. You must keep copies of all your WTNs for at least two years and must be able to produce them on demand to your environmental regulator from the local council, or you can be fined. Don’t worry we always keep an original backup and digital copy in case you lose it.

What if I have more items?

No fuss, simply log on to your account and visit the booking section. Once you have found your booking, simply click edit booking to take you back into the booking process. You can simply add or remove items and wait for approval.

What if you don’t arrive?

We carefully match you to our van drivers, who we’re sure will collection your IT waste on time. If on the very rare occasion your recycler is running late, please allow up to the 30 minutes for them to arrive.

If your recycler doesn’t arrive within 30 minutes of your booking start time, then please contact the customer team via LiveChat, Telphone or email who will be able to assist you immediately.

Can I cancel a booking?

Last minute cancellations and reschedules impact on our schedule and earnings, so if you do need to cancel or reschedule your booking (these situations pop up for all of us at one time or another!), please do so at least 24 hours in advance of your collection taking place. This gives us the best chance of finding another booking.

Failure to let us know of a cancellation or change in booking with at least 24 hours’ notice will result in a cancellation fee. Please do let us know 24 hours in advance, as the last thing we want is to charge our clients.

Cancellation Fees vary depending on the collection location or equipment.

(1) Failing to notify us with a change, last minute cancellation or no answer upon collection you will charged as below
Businesses within
  - 10 miles will be charged £20
  - 25 miles will be charged £50
  - 50 miles will be charged £80
  - 75 miles will be charged £90
  - 100 miles will be charged £100
  - 150 miles will be charged £150
  - 200 miles will be charged £200
  - 250 + will be charged at £249.99 plus a £

(2) - Failing to notify us with correct equipment information will also incur a collection charge as below.
  - Each missing Computer £4
  - Each missing Computer Laptop £5
  - Each missing Monitor £4
  - Each missing printer £5

Other equipment will average at £3 per item.

Do we have to help?

Of course not, we will do all the lifting and ensure all paperwork is ready, so as not to disrupt your time.

Can I trust my recycler?

Yes, our staff has gone through an extensive application process including interviews, reference checks and much more.

Does my recycler bring their equipment?

Yes, we have trollies, pallets and various tools to help with your collection. The more information you can provide before the collection, the better. E.g. lift service available, if you’re within an office, limited parking etc.

Our Service

Can I book a same day collection?

Collections can be made on the same day but usually is quite booked up. The fastest way to book a collection would be to call us directly on 0161 707 4020 and we will try our best to get your collection same day. We do offer an emergency collection service, which requires us to get an extra van and driver to collect from your office on the same day, at a Premium collection charge. Please contact us via telephone to discuss last minute collections.

What times can I book a collection?

Your collection can be booked anytime between Mondays to Friday 9am to 6pm (Saturday is off schedule unless we discuss over the phone and decide otherwise)

How Secure is the van & my equipment?

Our vans have high-level security protection and a hidden tracking device, which updates us every 30 seconds with the driver’s location. We can see any stops, traffic holdup or diversions taken. This ensures your high level data and equipment is always tracked from the minute it leaves your office by our team.

How do I book?

Booking is simple; we have created an amazing online booking system that takes a matter of minutes. Simply visit our home page, enter your postcode and click book now to be taken into the official booking form. You can also make a booking by calling 0161 707 4020.

Do you provide paperwork?

Yes, we will provide you with a Waste Transfer Note, Report and Certificate.

Do you give a report?

Yes, reports are given within 14 business days. This will include collection break down, Hard Drive wiping information such as serials, brand and model numbers. Your report will be sent along with your certificate.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes, we will post out an official A4 Certificate for your recycling collection. We will also attach your report and certificate to your customer account available for instant download.

Prices and Billing

Is it free?

To be eligible for a free collection, we need a minimum of 20 bulk working items such as desktops, monitors, printers, servers etc.

How do I pay?

Payments for collections or premium hard drive services can be done instantly online via our booking form, or you can call us directly on 0161 707 4020.

When is payment taken?

Payment is taken once your collection is approved.

What is the cost of a collection?

Costs for collection van vary depending on the amount of equipment you need recycling and depending your location. Please fill in an online booking form and we will get back to you instantly

What if I’m overcharged?

A very rare occurrence, but should it happen, please contact us on Live Chat, phone or email and we will resolve it for you a.s.a.p.!

How do I log into my account?

Please visit www.smarttechrecycling.co.uk and click on Log in and follow the onscreen instructions.

How do I check my booking status?

Log into your online account and look for the tab notifications in a blue tab at the top right hand corner and click the tab, this will give you a full breakdown eg: if anything has been changed ie: items added, subtracted or booking status changes.

How do I download my report?

For this please log into your online account and click on the download my report tab on the left hand menu.

How can I get my certificate?

For this please log into your online account and click on the download my certificate tab on the left hand menu.

How to make a new booking?

Firstly sign in to your online account and click new booking on the left hand side.

Can I change my address?

Yes log onto your online account and click on edit details and edit appropriately.

Can I add another branch for my company?

Yes of course you can, just log into your online account and click on the tab named Add Branch and follow the onscreen instructions.

I’ve lost my password, What now?

Simply click the forgot my password button, this will allow you to reset your email after clicking the link sent to your email address.

I Forgot my Username/Email Address, What now?

Please contact us on 0161 707 4020, ask for our Recycling Support team and we will reset your account information.
